My residency at Daghdha Dance really begins today, a few month later than the official kick off of the Daghdha Mentoring Program. Previously accepted commitments have kept me busy in the past few months: it’s not that easy for a freelance artist to put everything on hold for an entire year and I’ve been in and out of Limerick so much that it has proven hard to get anything started. My schedule ahead is now free and I am committed to use the opportunity I’ve been offered.
It’s still not clearly in sight what will be happening during the next few months, but I still remember what brought me here. It was the desire to take some time off from the routine of being a freelance dancer, to explore what else I have in me to offer and to figure out what I want to do with the next few years of my career as a dance artist.
I see a big need to start writing ideas down, as a way to define them and to communicate them. Hence I’m starting this blog as a container for all the thoughts that will arise in this reflection period and as a way to share them with others who might be curious to know what I am up to. And I’m really setting myself for an extra challenge.
